At Galleria Eugenia Delfini in Rome, Rachele Maistrello (born 1986 in Vittorio Veneto) presents a parallel universe through photographs and installations that blur reality and fiction. The exhibition centers on Chinese acrobat Gao Yue and her experiments with diamond powder sensory receptors implanted in her body. Two series are on view: Green Diamond (2019-21) and Blue Diamond (2020-23). The work explores bodily sensations linked to nature—sun warmth, green surroundings, ocean reflections—and later delves into marine life and cetaceans. Maistrello becomes Yue's alter ego, addressing existential questions and future expectations. The show redefines the human-nature balance with an elusive, alienating power.
