R&Sie(n) presents 'I've heard about…©' at Couvent des Cordeliers, Paris
Between July 7 and October 9, 2005, the collective R&Sie(n)—comprising François Roche, Stéphanie Lavaux, and Jean Navarro—showcased 'I've heard about…©' at the Couvent des Cordeliers in Paris. In collaboration with Benoît Durandin, the exhibition envisioned a fictional reimagining of urban futures. A video featured a girl softly saying 'Je me souviens…'. The central nave showcased models, films, and prototypes stemming from partnerships focused on biostructures, algorithms, and a technique known as 'contour crafting' that eliminates the need for formwork. Notable elements included a panoramic 3D representation of an endless urban landscape and a life-sized sample mimicking 'Alien' secretions. Visitors could also participate in a hypnosis session led by François Roustang, delving into personal accountability within a mixed-technology organism. The project ultimately remained an exhibition, highlighting the hesitance of French clients.
