Quayola's Digital Nature at Padua's Unesco Botanical Garden
The Unesco-listed Orto Botanico dell'Università di Padova hosts 'Seconda Natura', a solo exhibition by Quayola (Davide Quagliola, Rome 1982, London-based). Produced by Fondazione Alberto Peruzzo with Galleria Marignana Arte of Venice, the show presents works from the series 'Remains' and 'Jardins d'Été'. These series explore the intersection of natural and digital realms: 'Jardins d'Été' uses algorithm-generated color marks evoking Impressionist painting, while 'Remains' reconstructs a spectral forest from 3D laser scanning data rendered as dense white point clouds. The exhibition runs from October 2019 at the historic botanical garden.
