Quadriennale launches 'Storie del XXI secolo' talks series curated by Ludovico Pratesi

institutional · 2026-04-27

The Quadriennale di Roma has launched a new talk format titled 'Storie del XXI secolo', curated by Ludovico Pratesi, who also holds scientific coordination. The series consists of 18 appointments from May to December 2022, split into two parts: nine frontal meetings (online and in presence at Villa Carpegna, the Quadriennale's headquarters) from May to July, and nine guided visits from September to December. The first part frames the Italian art context of the last twenty years, while the second focuses on emblematic figures. Pratesi plans to involve artists and curators such as Giuseppe Armogida, Ilaria Gianni, Alessandro Rabottini, Alessandra Troncone, and Chiara Pirozzi, and will visit private collections, artist studios, and artist-run spaces like Post Ex and Paese Fortuna. Artists discussed include Rossella Biscotti, Francesco Arena, Eugenio Tibaldi, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, and Roberto Cuoghi. The program will be presented by Gian Maria Tosatti, director of the Quadriennale, and Ludovico Pratesi on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 7 PM via a live stream on the Quadriennale's YouTube channel. The first frontal meeting, reserved for members, takes place on May 26. Participation is tied to the 'Amici della Quadriennale' membership: €150/year for under-35s, €250/year for over-35s. Meetings last 60 minutes and require a minimum of ten subscribers to activate.
