Qatar Museums Launches Design Doha Biennial for Arab Designers
Design Doha, a biennial design event in Qatar and the MENA region, has been unveiled by Qatar Museums, scheduled to take place from 24-28 February 2024, under the leadership of Chairperson Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Artistic Director Glenn Adamson will guide the initiative, which seeks to uplift Arab designers and will showcase exhibitions across various design disciplines, including over 20 activations from partner studios. Highlights will feature installations by Choi Byung Hoon and Joris Laarman. The main exhibition, Arab Design Now, curated by Rana Beiruti, is set to be displayed at M7 from 24 February to 5 August 2024. Additionally, open calls for the Design Doha Prize and a logo competition will commence on 17 and 7 December, respectively.
