Qatar Museums and Sharjah Art Foundation Sign MOUs with Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District
In Hong Kong, the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has formed agreements with Qatar Museums and the Sharjah Art Foundation, part of a larger initiative that includes 20 cultural organizations from 11 different countries. These Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) are set to be officially signed at the upcoming Hong Kong International Cultural Summit 2024, which takes place from March 24 to 26, 2024. The collaborations will focus on co-producing exhibitions, sharing collections, conservation, digital projects, scientific research, and supporting artists and art administrators. Key partners in this effort include the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, and the Shanghai Museum in China. Henry Tang Ying-yen, the WKCDA board chairman, highlighted the goal of fostering international arts dialogue and strengthening Hong Kong’s role in cultural exchanges.
