Purple Squirrel Chair by Katherine Schwarz Up for Silent Auction

Katherine Schwarz has created a purple squirrel-themed Jennie Chair, which is now available through a silent auction. The chair was built during a workshop in Nashville led by Travis Curtis, where Schwarz and other woodworkers learned to construct the Jennie Chair. The chair features a plum paint from Real Milk Paint, finished with garnet shellac and Soft Wax, and painted squirrel details using acrylic paint from the same brand. The design is based on Jennie Alexander's 'Make a Chair from a Tree.' The chair measures 33-1/4 inches in height, 18-1/4 inches in width, with a seat height of 17-1/4 inches and depth of 14-1/2 inches. The seat is woven from recycled paper, and the chair weighs only 6 pounds. Schwarz painted the chair purple and added squirrels, inspired by an earlier Irish chair with a hare and flowers. The auction starts at $600, with shipping included to the lower 48 states.
