Puppies Puppies' Green Ghosts Performance Transforms Overduin & Co Gallery into Intimate Living Space

exhibition · 2026-04-20

From November 18 to December 16, 2017, Puppies Puppies presented Green Ghosts at Overduin & Co in Los Angeles, where she, her spouse Forrest, and their dog resided in the gallery, relocating their home belongings inside. Instead of a conventional press release, texts composed by Forrest were displayed, sharing their viewpoints. A significant piece, First underwear, first toy, our carpet (Blue)(Yellow)(Green) (2017), showcased blue and yellow underwear alongside a blue vibrator on green carpet tiles. Forrest disclosed that Puppies Puppies is undergoing a transition from male to female. The exhibition also featured blue estrogen pills mounted on a wall, facing a green iteration of Felix Gonzalez-Torres's Untitled (Perfect Lovers) (1991), and alluded to popular culture phenomena such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
