The director describes the film as a story of absolutes, immortality, and 'forever,' a concept he feels has disappeared from modern lexicon. The film ends with a reflection from Cesare Pavese. Chiara Caselli, who plays the daughter, noted that Avati revived her desire to act. The film marks Avati's return after 'Il Signor Diavolo' (2019).
