festival-fair · 2026-04-24

The 18th edition of Punto de Vista took place in Pamplona from March 11 to 16, 2024, showcasing a range of experimental and documentary films. American filmmaker Jerome Hiler was recognized for his work "Cinema before 1300" (2023). The festival commenced with Oskar Alegria's "Zinzindurrunkarratz," filmed on Super 8. Diana Castro Sánchez presented "Muyurina – Itzuli Mitzuli," which delves into the connections between Basque and Quechua cultures. Tamer Hassan's "Homing" tracks swallows migrating from the Amazon to the Great Lakes. A retrospective on Su Friedrich was featured, along with a new interview compilation with Scott MacDonald. A special session marked sculptor Néstor Basterretxea's centenary. Highlights included Yaela Gottlieb's "Where is Marie-Anne?" and Mariano Llinás's world premiere "Retrato de Mondongo." Festival director Manuel Asín continues to enhance Punto de Vista, with the poster designed by Azucena Vieites.
