Punta della Dogana Hosts 60 Artists in 'Untitled, 2020' Group Show
Punta della Dogana in Venice presents 'Untitled, 2020', a group exhibition curated by Caroline Bourgeois, Muna El Fituri, and Thomas Houseago, featuring around sixty artists. The show reflects the curators' professional relationship and a shared perspective among a core of Los Angeles-based artists, where both El Fituri and Houseago reside. Houseago serves as the conceptual and physical pivot, with a site-specific installation in Tadao Ando's Cube—a recreation of his studio symbolizing creative energy. The exhibition spans 18 rooms, exploring universal themes such as death, sex, grief, identity, and love through diverse techniques. Artists include Valie Export, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Otto Mühl, David Hockney, Duane Hanson, Georg Herold, Betye Saar, Edward Kienholz, Philip Guston, and Arthur Jafa. Jafa's video 'Love is the Message' addresses racial discrimination. The show opened in 2020 at Punta della Dogana, the second Venetian venue of the Pinault Collection.
