Punk Rock Shop opens in Livorno with Paolo Bargelli exhibition

Artist Michael Rotondi has opened Punk Rock Shop, a multifunctional studio and exhibition space in Livorno's Borgo Cappuccini neighborhood, inaugurated on November 8, 2025, with the solo show "Inside My Nature" by painter Paolo Bargelli. The space will host curation, collective workshops, popular education, and graphic design services, aiming to promote young artists from art schools and academies. Rotondi, who returned to Livorno after living in Milan, drew inspiration from Fashion Moda, an art space founded in 1978 in the South Bronx, New York, and from his experience at Farmacia Wurmkos in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) between 2016 and 2022. The name Punk Rock Shop originates from an event organized in 2009 at the Milan studio of Massimo Gurnari, a painter and tattoo artist, together with tattoo artists Zuno and Pietro Sedda. Paolo Bargelli (born 1978 in Livorno) presents paintings featuring fluid lines, imaginary flowers, and layered "walls of plants" that create an emotional architecture. A pop-up with objects, prints, drawings, and vintage clothing is planned for December 2025.
