Puglia's Strategic Cultural Plan Aims to Revolutionize Regional Development
Francesco Cascino, who hails from Matera and was born in 1965, plays a pivotal role in the PIIIL (Prodotto Impresa Innovazione Identità Lavoro) strategic initiative for culture in Puglia, which was introduced in November 2016. This plan seeks to weave culture into multiple sectors while engaging local communities. Cascino oversees the 'Product' segment, where he evaluates the arts to suggest initiatives. Other leaders include Guido Guerzoni, Alessandro Leogrande, and Michele Trimarchi. Six young assistants, selected from PhD candidates, support the effort. About 500 cultural operators provided input. The initiative aims to revitalize the area, generate employment, and draw tourists, all while maintaining political independence. Aldo Patruno manages communication with municipalities.
