Publishing Traffic Series Explores Contemporary Publishing at Gucci Garden

The Gucci Garden in Florence hosts Publishing Traffic, a conversation series on contemporary publishing launched in July 2018. Curated by researcher Saul Marcadent under the scientific direction of Maria Luisa Frisa, the series references Nicolas Bourriaud's 1996 exhibition 'Traffic' at CAPC Bordeaux. It aims to center human relationships within publishing, countering predictions of the medium's demise. The ground floor of Gucci Garden, opened in January 2018, features over 80 magazines and 40 international publishers including InOtherWords, Roma Publications, and Sternberg Press. Recent talks featured Bruno Ceschel (founder of Self Publish Be Happy and ECAL lecturer) and Luca Lo Pinto (co-founder of NERO and curator at Kunsthalle Wien). The next event on December 6, 2018, will focus on fashion and advertising with Luca Guarini, Luigi Vitali, and Mattia Ruffolo. The series resumes in February 2019.
