Prospettive/Perspectives: Cross-border art project tackles climate change between Piedmont and French Riviera

The Interreg V-A Italy-France ALCOTRA 2014-2020 program has launched Prospettive/Perspectives, a cross-border cooperation project linking the Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero UNESCO areas in Piedmont with the French Riviera. Led by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (based in Guarene and Turin) and Villa Arson in Nice, the initiative uses contemporary art to promote environmental awareness and sustainable tourism. Artists include Jean-Marie Appriou (sculpture in Neviglie, Italy), Liam Gillick and Hito Steyerl (mural on a historic building in Roddino, Italy), curated by Tom Eccles. In France, Gino Gianuizzi (founder of Neon, Bologna) coordinates a processual project involving duos Stalker, Drifters, ZimmerFrei, and solo artists Stéphanie Nava and Dörte Meyer across valleys near Nice. Meteorologist Luca Mercalli emphasized the need for radical sustainable tourism during the project's presentation. Inaugurations are set for March 2023.
