festival-fair · 2026-04-20

The tenth anniversary edition of Prospect.5, a contemporary art biennial in New Orleans, has revealed its lineup of 51 artists, set to take place from 24 October 2020 to 24 January 2021. Under the curation of Naima J. Keith and Diana Naw, the exhibition, themed "Yesterday we said tomorrow," will be showcased across various museums, cultural venues, and public locations throughout the city. This year's selection prominently features African-American artists such as Willie Birch, Mark Bradford, Dave McKenzie, Wangechi Mutu, and Nari Ward, exploring the African diasporas in New Orleans. New works will be introduced by Simone Leigh, Candice Lin, Josh Kun, and the Neighborhood Story Project, among others. The biennial also contemplates the city's evolution and sociopolitical landscape since its inception in 2010, following Hurricane Katrina.
