Prospect.4 New Orleans Triennial to Explore Colonialism in Global South for 2018 Edition
The fourth edition of the international art triennial, Prospect New Orleans, is scheduled to run from November 11, 2017, to February 25, 2018, aligning with the city's 300-year celebration. Trevor Schoonmaker, the contemporary art chief curator at Duke University, has been named the artistic director for Prospect.4. A curatorial council that includes Zoe Whitley from Tate, Miranda Lash from the Speed Art Museum, and artists William Cordova and Wangechi Mutu will be responsible for selecting artists and organizing public events. The exhibition will explore the theme of colonialism in regions like Latin America, the Caribbean, and the southern United States.
