Projektion Ruhr: IBA Emscher Park Exhibition at Cité de l'architecture
The exhibition 'Projektion Ruhr, IBA Emscher Park – un laboratoire urbain' is currently taking place at the Cité de l'architecture in Paris, curated by M : Ai for the North Rhine-Westphalia festival. It highlights the transformation of the Emscher River area across seventeen cities. Visitors experience an immersive environment created by Mischa Kuball's scenography and Thomas Klein's sound design, featuring projections that emphasize cultural and ecological themes. Notable displays include a diving gasometer in Duisburg, restored structures at Zollverein, a design school designed by SANAA, and an installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude in Oberhausen. The IBA serves as a tool for urban regeneration, fostering industrial heritage and community identity. Current IBAs include Fürst-Pückler-Land, Stadtumbau, and Hamburg, contributing to the 'Grand Pari(s)' consultation set for April.
