Progetto Futura residency culminates in Drifting Sides exhibition at Fondazione Stelline
So, there's this new exhibition called Drifting Sides that just opened as part of the third phase of Progetto Futura, an artist residency at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, curated by Giacomo Zaza. It started back in May 2023 and involved six resident artists—Benedetta Fioravanti, Valentina Furian, Nicoletta Grillo, Lisa Martini, Giovanna Repetto, and Davide Sgambaro—who teamed up with eight international artists like Rui Chafes and Hicham Benohoud. They had studio visits and public talks, leading up to the summer exhibition Slip Angles, which ran from June 29 to July 30, 2023. Drifting Sides will be on display in the Sala del Collezionista until November 5, 2023, featuring works that explore themes like memory and technology. Zaza underscores the project's focus on collaboration over outcomes, and there's a book and documentary in the works to capture the residency experience.
