Prix Pictet Shortlist Announced for 2015 Edition with 'Disorder' Theme

The shortlist for the sixth Prix Pictet photography award was revealed on July 10, 2015 at Les Rencontres d'Arles. Twelve photographers from nine countries were selected under the theme 'Disorder'. Ilit Azoulay, Valérie Belin, Matthew Brandt, Maxim Dondyuk, Alixandra Fazzina, Ori Gersht, John Gossage, Pieter Hugo, Gideon Mendel, Sophie Ristelhueber, Brent Stirton and Yang Yongliang comprise the international lineup. Funded by Swiss private bank Pictet Group, the prize recognizes photographers addressing urgent social and environmental issues. A CHF 100,000 cash award will be presented to the winner, chosen by a jury. Additionally, one nominated photographer receives a commission involving field work in a region where Pictet supports sustainability initiatives. Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will announce the winner at Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris on November 12, 2015.
