Prisma App Transforms Photos into Art Using AI and Painterly Filters

Prisma, a new app for Apple devices created by Russian developer Alexei Moiseenkov, uses artificial intelligence algorithms similar to Google Deep Dream to transform ordinary photographs into painterly images. Unlike typical Instagram filters, Prisma offers artistic styles inspired by famous painters such as Kandinsky, Munch, Lichtenstein, Dufy, Hokusai, and Chagall. Users simply take a photo or select one from their camera roll, apply a filter, and within seconds the image is completely transformed to resemble a painting. The app has achieved extraordinary success, with 1.5 million downloads in just ten days. The Russian team is already working on new features, including additional styles and support for animations and videos. Users can share their creations on social media using the hashtag #prisma.
