Princeton University Art Museum Named One of World's Greatest Places
On Halloween 2025, the Princeton University Art Museum reopened in a new facility designed by Adjaye Associates and has since been included in Time magazine's 2026 list of The World's Greatest Places. Director James Steward emphasized that this recognition "normalizes the idea that we are a world-class destination." In just five months, the museum drew 250,000 visitors, with over half coming from outside the campus, surpassing its previous annual average of 200,000. The museum boasts a global collection of more than 117,000 items. Meanwhile, the Yale Center for British Art, completed in 1977 by Louis I. Kahn, reopened in March 2025 after two years of conservation, attracting 100,000 visitors and nearly 300 class visits. Director Martina Droth remarked, "British art isn’t an island story, it’s a global story," with current exhibitions emphasizing ties to India.
