Prince's 1985 Album 'Parade' Recorded Between Masterpieces, Features Key Collaborators
The album 'Parade', released by Prince in 1985, was produced between the iconic works 'Purple Rain' and 'Sign O' The Times'. Recording commenced on April 17, 1985, at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, shortly after the conclusion of the Purple Rain tour and prior to the launch of 'Around the World in a Day'. Sound engineer Susan Rogers was responsible for capturing the initial four tracks: 'Wendy's Parade', 'New Position', 'I Wonder U', and 'Under The Cherry Moon'. Although it bore the name Prince & The Revolution, Prince himself played the majority of the instruments. Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman co-wrote 'Sometimes It Snows In April', while the album also featured the hit 'Kiss' along with singles 'Mountains' and 'Anotherloverholenyohead'. Additionally, it served as the soundtrack for 'Under The Cherry Moon'.
