Primary Architects Designs Carpentry House in Hao Tang Village

In Hao Tang village, Xinyang, China, Primary Architects has finalized the Carpentry House (Casa del carpintero), a 405 m² facility completed in 2025. This structure acts as both a workshop and a community hub, contributing to the 'Eight Artisans' initiative aimed at revitalizing traditional crafts through the restoration of old homes and the establishment of new venues. The house is designed to host craft exhibitions, sell cultural tourism products, and facilitate study visits, with the goal of fostering sustainable income for the local community. The design team, headed by Xiang Huang and Songyan Mao, includes Cong Liu, Zhiyan Lin, Xiaoxia Wang, Junjie Liu, Xiaofeng Zhang, and Yao Lu. The client is Xinyang Pingqiao District Juxing Agricultural Investment and Development Co., Ltd., with photography by DONG Image.
