Premio Scripta: New Prize for Art Critics Under 35 Launches in Florence

A new prize for art critics under 35, the Premio Scripta, has been launched by the association Scripta. L’arte a parole, founded in 2020 and known for organizing the Scripta Festival at Libreria Brac in Florence under the artistic direction of Pietro Gaglianò. The prize aims to promote critical literature and support young professionals in contemporary art. It offers a €2,000 grant and publication of a winning essay with Gli Ori editori contemporanei in the I limoni series. The prize is realized in collaboration with Gli Ori editori contemporanei and Libreria Brac, with support from Regione Toscana (Toscanaincontemporanea2022) and Comune di Firenze. Applicants must be under 35, any nationality, fluent in Italian, and submit an independent, unpublished project proposal on contemporary art in relation to the public sphere and social studies. The selection committee includes Dario Alì, Paolo Gori, Teresa Macrì, Raffaella Perna, and Pietro Gaglianò. Deadline: September 17, 2022, 1 PM.
