Premio Gavi La Buona Italia Shortlists Wineries Investing in Contemporary Art
The second edition of the Premio Gavi La Buona Italia, established in August 2015 by the Consorzio Tutela del Gavi, will for the first time award Italian food and wine companies that invest in arts and culture. Twenty projects have been selected for the jury, which includes Claudio Bocci (Federculture), Marco Bolasco (Giunti Editore), Mina Clemente (CCIAA di Milano), Roberta Garibaldi (University of Bergamo), Giovanna Maggioni (UPA), Giuseppe Minoia (GFK), Francesco Moneta (Laboratorio Gavi), Maurizio Montobbio (Consorzio Tutela Gavi), Catterina Seia (Giornale Arte/Arte Imprese), and Fabio Zanchi. Seven categories have been defined: Cultural Productions/Contemporary Art, Cultural Productions/Performing Arts, Labels and Packaging by Artists, Cultural Awards, Restorations and Valorization, Cultural Sponsorships, and Private Food and Wine Museums. Among the shortlisted companies are Cantina Marchesi Antinori (San Casciano Val di Pesa) for its Antinori Art Project, Cantina Ceretto (San Cassiano, Alba) for its collection and the chapel decorated by Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett in the Barolo vineyards, and Castello di Ama (Gaiole in Chianti) for its Castello di Ama per l’Arte Contemporanea project. The winner will be announced on May 27 at the Forte di Gavi. The prize is part of the strategic project Valore Forte – Gavi for Arts, coordinated by The Round Table for the Consorzio Tutela del Gavi.
