Precious Okoyomon's living forest transforms MoMA PS1 courtyard

Precious Okoyomon, a Nigerian-American artist born in 1993, will unveil her latest work, "Among the Flowers I Learned to Love: A Garden of Decreation," at MoMA PS1's courtyard starting July 31, 2026, running through 2028. This will be her largest outdoor installation yet and the first of its kind in NYC. The piece features a vibrant wild garden that changes with the seasons, complemented by a giant teddy bear sculpture that encourages visitors to explore and climb on it. This installation is part of the new Courtyard Commission series, which will showcase large-scale, site-specific outdoor art every two years. The courtyard will be accessible for free, including during the Warm Up summer music series on Fridays until August 28.
