Prato's Industrial Heritage Hosts Second Edition of TAI Art Project
The second edition of the Tuscan Art Industry (TAI) project, curated by Studio Corte 17 led by artist Chiara Bettazzi, culminates on November 26, 2016, at the former Anonima Calamai wool mill designed by Pier Luigi Nervi for Brunetto Calamai. This year, French artist Rebecca Digne, winner of the VISIO Young Talent Acquisition Prize in Italy and the Talent Contemporain of the Fondation Schneider in France, participates in a residency. The project also includes a collective intervention by SC17 using reclaimed materials within the nearly unaltered factory. TAI is part of the MacroLottoZero network with SC17, Dryphoto, and Kinkaleri, supported by the Comune di Prato and the regional project Toscanaincontemporanea2016. The event follows the success of Prato's cultural year, marked by the reopening of the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci (expanded by Maurice Nio) and the Parco Centrale di Prato design competition won by Paolo Brescia and Michel Desvigne.
