exhibition · 2026-04-27

The Museo del Prado in Madrid has revealed its exhibition schedule for 2022, emphasizing collaborations with international artists and those who are less recognized. According to Director Miguel Falomir, visitor attendance has shown signs of recovery. Notable exhibitions include 'The Discovery of the Renaissance: Spanish Artists in Naples at the Beginning of the 16th Century' in autumn, curated by Andrea Zezza and Riccardo Naldi, and a May showcase dedicated to Luis Paret y Alcázar, featuring over 50 pieces. 'Annibale Carracci: The Frescoes of the Herrera Chapel' will take place in March, bringing together altarpieces and murals with the help of Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and Palazzo Barberini. Additionally, contemporary works by Philippe Parreno (May) and a Picasso exhibition (November) are planned, alongside new permanent galleries, including a dedicated room for Leonardeschi and an updated narrative on Goya.
