Prado Museum Announces 2023 Exhibition Program
The Museo del Prado in Madrid has unveiled its 2023 exhibition schedule, featuring a spring dedicated to the Baroque with a major Guido Reni retrospective opening March 28, the first monographic show on Francisco de Herrera 'El Mozo' from April 25, and a selection of Spanish masterpieces from the Frick Collection on view March through July. A Picasso-El Greco dialogue runs June to September as part of the Picasso Year. Autumn brings 'Reverso. The Hidden Side,' examining the reverse of paintings from the Renaissance to the 19th century, and 'The Lost Mirror: The Medieval Image of the Jew and Judaism.' The museum also continues thematic itineraries within its permanent collection, including a focus on Calderón de la Barca and painting (May–September), a display on frames as historical objects, and a new sculpture installation in the Galleria Jonica.
