POUR Exhibition Explores Abstract Painting's Liquid Techniques Across New York Galleries

The exhibition titled POUR, curated by Elisabeth Condon and Carol Prusa in 2013, examined abstract painting through the lens of poured paint techniques. It took place at the University Galleries of Florida Atlantic University from February 5 to March 23, 2013, before moving to New York's Lesley Heller Workspace and Asya Geisberg Gallery from April 24 to May 24, 2013. Artists featured in the show included Carrie Moyer, Jackie Saccoccio, Carolanna Parlato, Angelina Gualdoni, David Reed, Carrie Yamaoka, Roland Flexner, and Ingrid Calame. This exhibition coincided with major abstract painting events at leading institutions. The catalogue made references to Helen Frankenthaler while largely omitting discussions on Clement Greenberg. John Yau's review in Hyperallergic from March 2013 highlighted outdated criticisms centered on Greenberg.
