Poster art exhibition 'GUARDAMI. Io sono Mantova' invades historic center

From August 3 to 31, 2020, the outdoor poster art exhibition 'GUARDAMI. Io sono Mantova' spreads through Mantua's historic center, featuring works by nine artists installed on billboards. The first edition is promoted by the Municipality of Mantua and organized by Caravan SetUp association, curated by Simona Gavioli (previously head of Booming fair during Arte Fiera in Bologna) in collaboration with Lavinia Bottini. Artists include Angelo Camillieri, Giuseppe Gradella, l'abx, Marta Lonardi, Margherita Paoletti, Chiara Riberti, Alessandro Sanna, Laura Scala, and Zualidro. The curators draw parallels between Renaissance imprese (symbolic images with mottos) and modern billboards as identity expressions. Works span photography, graphics, collage, and illustration, intertwining ancient tradition with contemporary content to interpret Mantua's identity. The event is eco-friendly, part of European programs C-Change and ARC³A: the 16 posters (600×300 cm) and materials are printed on biodegradable paper with certified water-based inks. Bicycle tours are organized for city exploration. After the exhibition, the fifth edition of contemporary art and urban regeneration festival 'Without Frontiers – Lunetta a Colori' runs from August 31 to September 6, 2020, featuring a new public art project 'Piccola Biblioteca Ideale' for the Te Brunetti district.
