Poscio Collection Goes Public at Casa De Rodis in Domodossola
The exhibition 'Tra Guercino e De Nittis. Due Collezioni si incontrano' at Casa De Rodis in Domodossola brings together works from the Poscio family collection and the Antonio Ceci bequest from the Pinacoteca Civica di Ascoli Piceno. The collaboration originated after the 2016 earthquake when the Poscio heirs were contacted to host artworks from the Marche region. Although the temporary deposit did not materialize, the dialogue led to a successful comparative display highlighting shared tastes in 19th-20th century landscapes and portraits, as well as 17th-century devotional pieces by Guercino, Pietro da Cortona, and a Madonna attributed to Sassoferrato. The Poscio collection, formed by Alessandro Poscio (1928-2013) over 50 years with his wife Paola, was made public after his death. The family purchased Casa De Rodis in 2010 after failed negotiations with public entities. The first exhibition opened in 2014. Heirs Paola and Stella Poscio manage the collection, aiming to share beauty and deepen ties with the territory, notably through artists like Carlo Fornara and Giovanni Battista Ciolina from the 'Valle dei pittori'.
