Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Sets New Nürburgring EV Record
The title of fastest production EV at the Nürburgring Nordschleife has been reclaimed by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, now enhanced with the Manthey Performance kit. This remarkable vehicle, piloted by Porsche development driver Lars Kern, completed the 12.94-mile track in 6:55.533 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by the Yangwang U9 Xtreme by more than three-and-a-half seconds. Additionally, it outperformed the electric executive car record established by the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in January 2025 by over nine seconds, and it beat the earlier Taycan record (set by a Turbo GT with Weissach package in 2023) by more than 12 seconds. Known as "the Green Hell," the Nürburgring Nordschleife consists of 73 turns and over 1,000 feet of elevation changes. The Taycan Turbo GT's dual-motor system generates up to 1,019 hp, while the Manthey package includes a unique powertrain tune, chassis enhancements, rear aerodisc wheels, and a large wing. Although Porsche has yet to disclose pricing, it is anticipated to surpass the $243,700 starting price of the Turbo GT with Weissach package.
