POROUS Exhibition Reimagines Ports as Interspecies Habitats
POROUS is a symposium and exhibition organized by TBA21–Academy and Villa Arson for World Ocean Day, the UN Conference on the Oceans, and Biennale des Arts et de l’Océan 2025. Part of the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS4Water II initiative, it explores ports as porous spaces for interspecies cohabitation through immersive experiences, talks, performances, and workshops. The exhibition features works by Adelita Husni-Bey, Plastique Fantastique, Lara Tabet, Territorial Agency, Stijn Demeulenaere, Siobhán McDonald, Lauren Moffatt, Hypercomf, and Carlos Casas, installed as a guided path at Villa Arson. The project connects European ports and water bodies from the Venice Lagoon to the Dublin coast, addressing ecological and social transformations. The second edition, titled Ports in Transformation, involves partners including TBA21–Academy, WAAG, Gluon, and PINA.
