PopUp Bike Tour in Ancona Revives Street Art Murals

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

On July 23, in the port area of Ancona, a group of urban explorers rode bicycles to revisit murals from the PopUp! Festival, which have been created since 2008. The tour, guided by Monica Caputo, the artistic director of MAC Manifestazioni Artistiche Contemporanee, showcased works by renowned artists such as Ozmo, Run, M-City, Blu, and Ericailcane. A standout piece was a collaborative graffiti work featuring a Madonna and child, crafted by Ozmo, Run, and M-City, inspired by a Lorenzo Lotto artwork. The exploration also included the 'retari' pavilions, where fishermen mend nets alongside vibrant poster art. This event was part of WeekenDoIt at the Mole Vanvitelliana, focusing on craft 2.0, featuring artists like Nicola Alessandrini, Sten Lex, and many more.
