Popsophia's MeGA Virtual Gallery Returns to Civitanova for Rocksophia Festival

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The MeGA (Meta Gallery) digital interactive gallery, a project by the Popsophia association, returns to Civitanova Marche for the Rocksophia festival from July 27 to 30, 2023. This year's exhibition, titled "Apollineo e dionisiaco" (Apollonian and Dionysian), explores the duality between order and excess in art history. The virtual space, accessible via VR headsets, features 3D reconstructions of classical works such as the Venus de Milo and Polykleitos's Doryphoros, alongside modernist pieces like Picasso's Minotaur and Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. The cyber architecture is inspired by the morphism of architect Vittorio Giorgini. Lucrezia Ercoli, artistic director of Rocksophia, stated that this polarity underlies all artistic creation. MeGA aims to provide an immersive experience superior to physical visits, eliminating distances through technology. The project was born from the pandemic's necessity to rethink physical spaces, creating immaterial rooms shaped by sounds and images. Last year's theme was "L'Altro sguardo" (The Other Gaze).
