Popsophia launches virtual gallery MeGa and expands Rocksophia into a festival

The Italian philosophical festival Popsophia, held annually in the Marche region, is introducing two major innovations for 2022: a virtual gallery called MeGa and the expansion of its music-focused offshoot Rocksophia into a full festival. MeGa, described as Italy's first modular digital exhibition space, debuts on July 28 with the show "Autres regards," featuring works by Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, and Salvador Dalí. The virtual gallery is accessible via browser on desktop, smartphone, or VR headset without downloads. Rocksophia, after a pilot edition in 2021, becomes a festival from July 29 to 31 at Varco sul mare in Civitanova, with afternoon sessions at Hotel Miramare. The 2022 edition pays tribute to Italian music icons: Vasco Rossi (July 29), Raffaella Carrà (July 30), and Lucio Dalla (July 31). Artistic director Lucrezia Ercoli stated that Popsophia's second decade opens with innovation, and MeGa represents a new format to interpret the present. The festival includes philosophical analyses, musical performances, and discussions with philosophers and writers. Carlo Massarini will co-host the final evening dedicated to Lucio Dalla.
