Poet Vincent Katz and Artist Francesco Clemente Collaborate on Limited Edition Livre d'Artiste
Back in 2008, a New York publisher called Granary Books put out a limited edition art book named 'Alcuni Telefonini.' This unique piece features poems by Vincent Katz and watercolors by Francesco Clemente. It has 28 pages and was printed the year before, in 2007, at Silicon Gallery Fine Art Prints in Philadelphia, with only 70 copies made. Katz penned the poems in 2002 while he was at the American Academy in Rome, and Clemente created his watercolors in Italy during the summer of 2006. Three of Katz's poems—'Back,' 'Breath,' and 'Bricks'—were highlighted in Artcritical's Poetry For Art series, curated by Bill Berkson. Katz has nine poetry collections to his name and edits the journal VANITAS. Clemente, born in Naples in 1952, moved to NYC in 1981 and is known for his artistic collaborations.
