other · 2026-05-05

Carlo Invernizzi, an innovative poet who blended poetry with visual artistry, passed away in Milan at the age of 85. He divided his time between Milan and Morterone, a serene village nestled at the base of Monte Resegone. Invernizzi began writing poetry early in life and became a member of the Poíesis group established by Maria Vailati in 1961. He formed friendships with prominent Italian artists such as Rodolfo Aricò, Gianni Colombo, and Dadamaino. In 1986, he and his wife Angela, along with their children, founded the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea all'Aperto in Morterone, which later showcased works by international artists. Invernizzi's final poetry collection was titled 'Lucentizie,' and philosopher Massimo Donà remembered him as someone whose life was profoundly influenced by fate.
