Po&sie Double Issue Honors Zanzotto and Caproni
The literary journal Po&sie, founded by Michel Deguy in 1977, released a double issue (n°137-138) published by Belin. The issue opens with a tribute to Andrea Zanzotto and closes with texts by Claude Mouchard and Laurent Zimmermann on the October 17, 1961 police repression of an FLN demonstration in Paris. A dossier on Giorgio Caproni (1912-1990) includes selected poems, unpublished prose, and critical texts by Bernard Simeone, Jean-Pierre Ferrini, and Pier Paolo Pasolini. Caproni, a translator of Baudelaire, Proust, and Céline, is described by Martin Rueff as "the most metaphysical poet imaginable, obsessed with nothingness and the hidden God." The issue also features a philological and philosophical section with contributions from four academics, including Marcel Detienne.
