exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Benaki Museum in Athens now houses a collection of 50 models and drawings from Art for the World's Playgrounds and Toys project, initiated in 2000 by Adelina von Fürstenberg. The project, marking the 50th anniversary of the UN Refugee Commission, has involved 80 international artists creating playgrounds for disadvantaged schools and reception centers worldwide. An exhibition opened October 30, running until January 11, 2026, at Benaki Pireos, showcasing works by artists including Edgard Soares, Joseph Kosuth, Vito Acconci, and Liliana Moro. The collection will be managed across Benaki's seven venues, including the Benaki Toy Museum. Von Fürstenberg confirmed the project continues beyond this donation.
