Platform6: Digital Archive Launched for Okwui Enwezor's documenta 11
The documenta archiv has introduced Platform6, a digital initiative dedicated to the memory of curator Okwui Enwezor, who passed away in 2019. This platform compiles resources from documenta 11, the exhibition Enwezor curated in Kassel in 2002. Platform6 is inspired by five international events he directed: Democracy Unrealized (Vienna, March–April 2001; Berlin, October 2001), Truth and Reconciliation (New Delhi, May 2001), Creolité and Creolization (St. Lucia, January 2002), and Under Siege: Four African Cities (Lagos, May 2002). The archive, which is open-access, features input from Enwezor's collaborators. Furthermore, his posthumous exhibition, Grief and Grievance: Art and Mourning in America, is currently displayed at the New Museum in New York, showcasing 37 artists.
