Platea's 'Fare Collettivo' Explores Artistic Collectives in Lodi

exhibition · 2026-04-26

In Lodi, the cultural association Platea presents its fourth exhibition program, 'Fare Collettivo,' running from May to December 2024. The initiative examines artistic collectives through exhibitions at two venues: the window space of Palazzo Galeano (17th-century) and Platea Project at Via Maddalena 3. The program features collectives MRZB (founded in Bologna in 2014), Palazzo Bronzo (from Genoa), RM, Extragarbo, and Hardchitepture. MRZB's installation 'DESPAIR of a Cannibal Soul (A Prologue)' occupies the Palazzo Galeano window, featuring a bathtub studded with nails, referencing Dada and Kurt Schwitters' Merzbau. Palazzo Bronzo presents a permanent installation with wooden scaffolding and evocative objects, including a 'puddinga' mineral symbolizing cohesion. The accompanying publication 'Iperromantico,' Platea's first editorial project, gives voice to all participating collectives. Platea was founded in 2020 to support young talent, with its name inspired by artist Marcello Maloberti. Artistic director Carlo Orsini cites Documenta 15 (2022), directed by collective ruangrupa, as inspiration for exploring shared authorship. President Claudia Ferrari emphasizes the program's role in engaging local students with contemporary art.
