Planeta Winery Opens Versoterra|Earthwards Art Space in Sicily

Planeta, a Sicilian winery with a long-standing commitment to culture, has inaugurated Versoterra|Earthwards, a new art space at Casina dell'Ulmo within the Tenuta Ulmo estate between Sambuca di Sicilia (AG) and Lake Arancio. The space hosts exhibitions—currently 'Corpo Fragile' by Ignazio Mortellaro until September 30—and public debates on ecological themes. It is part of 'Planeta Cultura per il Territorio,' a program of art, music, and theater initiatives across Planeta's estates. The project is curated by Vito Planeta Jr. and Valentina Bruschi, in partnership with Fondazione Merz, Suq Magazine – Unconventional Sicily, and Meeraqui, in collaboration with Radiceterna Arte e Ambiente. The space continues Planeta's artistic legacy, including the itinerant residency 'Viaggio in Sicilia' launched about twenty years ago. Future programming includes the Sciaranuova Festival at the Etna winery in late July, directed by Ottavia Casagrande, featuring a Claire Fontaine installation dedicated to Ettore Majorana and a Mario Merz Fibonacci cone in red neon on black lava stone.
