Planeta's Seventh Nomadic Residency Explores Sicily Through Art and Wine

The seventh edition of Viaggio in Sicilia, a nomadic residency organized by the Sicilian winery Planeta and curated by Valentina Bruschi, has concluded at Dorilli, a Liberty-style estate in Vittoria. Six artists—Gabriella Ciancimino, Pietro Ruffo, Luca Trevisani, Marianna Christofides, Malak Helmy, and Andrew Mania—traveled across Sicily during the grape harvest, exploring the island's landscapes, archaeological sites, and contemporary art venues. The residency's theme was 'Maps and Myths of the Mediterranean.' Artists collected images, notes, and sketches for a final exhibition opening in Palermo next spring. Photographer Leonardo Scotti documented the journey on Planeta's blog. The itinerary included Capparrina beach in Menfi, the Salt Mines of Realmonte, Scicli, Fornace Perna in Sampieri, Mount Etna, a snow cave in Sant'Alfio, the Argimusco plateau, and Capo Milazzo. Vito Planeta emphasized the company's commitment to cultural and landscape heritage.
