PJ Harvey documentary 'A Dog Called Money' goes online May 21
The documentary 'PJ Harvey: A Dog Called Money', directed by Seamus Murphy and under the patronage of Amnesty International, will be released online on Thursday, May 21, 2020, after its debut at the Berlin International Film Festival. Distributed by Wanted Cinema in virtual cinemas replacing physical ones closed due to the health emergency, the film will be available on demand with scheduled screenings. Anastasia Plazzotta of Wanted explained that viewers purchase tickets directly from participating cinema websites, with proceeds split between distributor and exhibitor as in traditional physical cinemas, thus supporting local theaters. The docu-film traces the creative process behind Harvey's 2016 album 'The Hope Six Demolition Project', combining footage from trips to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Washington D.C. with recording sessions at Somerset House in London. Murphy stated that their mutual trust allowed Harvey to travel with him to challenging places and for him to film every moment of the recording sessions behind glass, calling their collaboration a response to what they encountered on those journeys.
