Pivô Launches Satélite Online Commissioning Platform with 12 Artists
The cultural association Pivô launched Satélite, an online commissioning platform, on July 24. The project will present experimental works by twelve artists selected by three young Brazilian curators. Diane Lima curated the first stage, selecting artists Rebeca Cerapiá, biarritzzz, Diego Araúja, and Raylander Mártis dos Anjos. Cerapiá inaugurates the platform with 'Os dias antes da quebra,' an exhibition described as a return to what was predicted before the pandemic. Each curator will select four artists for month-long virtual exhibitions. The platform aims to support the Brazilian artistic community during an adverse period, providing artists with production and communication support from Pivô's teams, curatorial dialogue, and a production grant. Lima, who experiments with contemporary curatorial practices from a decolonial perspective, is also part of the curatorial team for the 3rd edition of Frestas – Trienal de Artes do SESC-SP and previously conceived the art-education program AfroTranscendence.
