Piuarch expands Pastiglie Leone factory with 'Fabbrica della felicità' in Collegno

architecture-design · 2026-04-26

Construction has commenced on a new headquarters for Pastiglie Leone in Collegno, close to Turin, with design by Piuarch. This expansion will enhance production space from 10,000 to 17,000 square meters by autumn 2025, featuring a 3,200 square meter experiential area. Germán Fuenmayor, co-founder of Piuarch, describes it as a 'Fabbrica della felicità' (Factory of Happiness), merging historical elements with contemporary design. The facade draws inspiration from Piedmontese brick factories and incorporates Leone's signature colors. Aiming for LEED Gold certification, the facility is expected to become a landmark and tourist destination, complete with green spaces and a greenhouse. Established in 1996, Piuarch has collaborated with brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, and is working on projects including a cultural hub in Venaria Reale and the UNIQLO Entrance Box in Milan, set to open on May 2, 2024.
