Pittsburgh's Arts Landing: a 4.5-acre park with art and green space opens downtown
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has opened Arts Landing, a 4.5-acre park in downtown Pittsburgh's cultural district. Designed by landscape firm Field Operations, the park features a great lawn, stormwater gardens, and a riverside concert pavilion. It includes 23 artworks by 10 Pittsburgh-linked artists, including bronzes by the late Thaddeus Mosley, a neon piece by Shikeith, and a pickleball court by Sharmistha Ray. The park aims to provide green space and rotating public art in a district that previously lacked both. The Trust, which has developed the area since the 1980s, acquired parcels and tapped Field Operations to create a 'green oasis.' The park opened earlier this month.
